Vintage Epiphone Bass Guitar
What should I buy for my guitar?
I've been playing guitar for a year. I feel I should expand my capabilities by purchasing new equipment. Currently I have an Epiphone G-400, an old classical guitar, a line of six 15w amp and a few pedals. I am interested in a couple of things. A slide guitar or lap steel. A string of 12 and 6 string acoustic bass or amp new and better. (I really want a vintage HIWATT but they cost more, are there products similar?)
I agree that a better amplifier is the first logical step - although the Epiphone is good, but nothing more Blackstar. For amplifiers will would check a less powerful Orange tiny terror or a tube of new things or Blackheart - All great amps for the price. I agree however, a Hiwatt is impressive, and expensive. I still regret the day I sold my stack of many years (I know, I'm an idiot). Playing around steel or slide is totally great - highly recommended. You can still pick up a great lap steel on eBay.com for pretty cheap of course. Have you considered obvious and cheaper also matter - such as a capo (partials are fun), trying new tunings (open tunings - also excellent for next slide)? Or how about testing some new effects and gadgets? A loop pedal base is not expensive and can be very inspiring and fun.
