Should I get an epiphone guitar, and if so, which one?

Ok, so I've been playing guitar for about half a year, and I've been using a Squier Stratocaster. I was considering getting an Epiphone guitar, and I've had my eyes particually on the SG G400, but I'm also considering the Les Paul Studio/Standard. Budget is a fairly big issue issue.

I really like rock music, particually AC/DC.

So, would it be worth getting an Epiphone guitar at this stage, and if so, which one should I get?

If you want one and can afford it...get it! You've established that you have the interest and it's natural to want to get a better guitar. At this price range, the pickups aren't great but will do the job well enough until you get some extra money to replace them. I have an Epiphone Casino and will agree with many others that Epi's are good quality for the money.

Which one you get is your decision to make. The SG and Les Paul have a very different feel so it would be worthwhile to go to your local music store and try each one.
