Guitar nuts are replaceable?

I have a guitar, epiphone g-400 custom. I recently bought a little heavier than the average chains (I think they are size 10 to 52) and chain mail under broke a small piece of the nut (which holds the strings in place, between the head and neck.) I can replace this part, and if so, how?
