Is half of the Epiphone Valve Junior amp stack Grunge good to play?

I play a lot of grunge / alternative rock. Amp saw in the shop one day and treat blew my mind. If I have, I was thinking also in partnership with Digitech Grunge pedal. Hopefully a good choice for? If the amplifier is a good deal, go for it anyway. I have to say - I wish the pedal, and I do not play grunge - it's just a name on the pedal, but I have used for a lot of things, from blues, to all out metal. It hit any amp into submission and make a great sound.
