Would you recommend a Model Epiphone ME?

Ok, so I have an intermediate guitar player and I was thinking of buying me a new guitar, but I think can not decide. Any suggestions? (Can be electric or acoustic) that I was considering the model or Epiphone EJ-200-keep in mind that I do not want to buy very expensive (:

While the dollar of 1000 and up Epiphones are great guitars, everyone I know who has bought a cheaper (less than $ 500) complains that the hardware is lost in less than a year, finishing flake off, etc. I want a good cheap guitar, but from what I've seen, Epiphone is not. For one, CHEAP great guitarist, I'd recommend the Ibanez ART 100. GREAT, CHEAP Les Paul copy.
