Epiphone Les Paul Custom Prophecy EX or Jackson Stars RR-BN03STB?

I would go with the Epiphone ... My reasons are ... Jackson has a bolt-on maple neck. The collars have created Epiphones tuning stability and better tone. I think most models have the neck Epiphone Mahogany also. A guitar with a lower body and bolt-on maple neck as Jackson does not usually have the best tone. In addition, the options seem much better collection for Epiphones. The "Duncan Designed" pickups in Jackson are lame. I had in my ESP and are in the trash now. They were very bright sound like real Seymour Duncan, but he had the high gain needed for the "cream" or take the edge off the brightness. There were only weak, thin, sharp sound. Good luck! It may sound almost as sharp as the Environmental Management Group for the metal, but can also more organic sound for other styles. They are very versatile, and clean if you roll the volume back a bit. The GX also has a control for the division of the coil allows it to be very close to a blast of single coil.
