Fender or Epiphone guitar?
i wan to get a new guitar and am choosing between a standard Fender Telecaster and a Epiphone Les Paul standard. is best and more generally more versatile and worth the money?
I have the feeling that you get a different answer from anyone who even attempts to give a sense of direction here. These two guitars are SO very different from the other, it is difficult even to compare them. Personally, I would get one one. And a Gibson SG for good measure. Strats? Eric Clapton Leaving out of the picture, just do not care for them much. The common question is how do you choose between Gibson Les Paul and Fender Stratocaster and is much easier to answer. These are in the same league. Paul can be more versatile, but it is the specific sound of a start you are looking for, buy a home. The LP has a fatter and I believe that fuller tone, but my personal preference. Unless you're Keith Richards, The Tele is simply not in the same league as these "rock" axes. So in that sense, comparing TV to a Paul just makes no sense. A TV is more nasal, which is ideal for country music and a particular type of blues, but has a more limited range than an LP, much closer to that of a Secretary General. Some players such as Keith Richards did not let that stop them. However, you will find many more country artists playing rock Teles. I think we can easily say that a "Paul" is a Paul and a "Tele" is a "Tele" and not "worth" more than the other. I think it must take into account the range, versatility and the significant difference in the neck of each of these. For me, the standard LP neck is too thick, and the Tele rule is too broad. Probably why I play Taylor. But then I play an Epi LP Special II, and his neck and not too thick. I admit I'm not sure that only the necks LP is the norm. Sold the one I had and now I'm quite happy with the Special II. I think it's best to go to a guitar shop, play one of each and make your decision on the basis of having experienced both.
