Epiphone Electric Mandolin
Do you have an electric mandolin sound, sound as good as the pure acoustics?
I am buying my first mandolin (my main instrument is low), and want to spend under $ 200. I'm looking at the Epiphone MM-30, and has two acoustic models and acoustic-electric. The AE would be easier to use with my own band, but could microphone noise if nessecary. My question is going to get a better sound or acoustics when acousticly plays, or vice versa, for AE. Thanks
When I bought my first (and so far only mandolin) I have the opportunity to play an electric short / Acoustic and mandolin sounded good, but was about $ 500. I ended up taking a purely acoustic mandolin for about $ 250 cheaper and sounds nice. I think how nice it sounds more dependent on price and quality if not acoustic or electric-acoustic, so take whichever is most convenient for you, because I'm sure that both sound decent (at least). By the way, congratulations to you to pick up the mandolin, I really like that instrument.
