If I paint this guitar?
I Epiphone Les Paul Standard Custom Shop Ltd. The gloss silver kills me. The dye is a green pickle juice in the light natural. I had emailed Epiphone and Gibson asked what the numbers are running and what is so custom about this guitar. No numbers of execution and the color is the Custom Shop. It's a 2008 and I doubt that this guitar is so limited as it seems. Should I paint anyway? Here is a guitar like mine on ebay. I Would not it be painting. In an electric one, the extra layer of paint will not affect your sound .... but unless you're a professional paint job will look as it is .... an amateur paint job. There is much more to return to paint a guitar that was just hit with a couple coats of spray paint. Once you place a job painting in her house, resale value will go down the toilet. The cost of having it professionally painted lose more than just trading guitar for a color you like. I think everybody should learn to live with the color, or sell it and get something you like. As a side note, I own a pedal steel guitar that I bought used. The color is a kind of sunshine blue-green. I never liked, but many people commented on the fresh color. More likely is that it also receives praise for his "custom" LP color.
