It is the Epiphone SG-400 A good guitar?

I've been playing for nine years, and I have my good collection of guitars. I chose a guitar that my parents are giving me for Christmas, and is the SG-400, active EMG white edition. paid about $ 849 of gold in a retail store for him. wondering what its view of the guitar is? I know there is better. but it's good for the money (:

im not a big fan of the g400s, although they are good for the money. I guess play metal (emgs cousin), so I'm wondering why has not give a Schecter or Ibanez
