Epiphone Dot Studio vs Les Paul Special II?
I'm looking for a guitar for beginners. What first caught my eye was the Epiphone Sheraton, because it had a semi-Hollow body, but the price tag was too high (I have a very low budget, around 200ish). The Dot Studio seemed like a good compromise, because it had the same features as a Sheraton. It costs around 300. The Les Paul, however, is more popular and cheaper. I've been torn between the two, but I think the Dot Studio is winning only because of it's looks. I don't want to sacrifice sound for style, though style is nice. Thanks for your opinion. Could someone explain the pros and cons of owning either one of these guitars, and which one would be better in the long run and have quality sound longer?

Both will be nice beginners guitars, the Dot is a Semi Hollow body and the LP is a solid body, so yes there will be a difference in tone, there is no sacrifice there, the dot is a copy of the Gibson ES 335, and the LP is a copy of an LP, both are very popular, but the Gibson ES tends to be a very expensive guitar, mostly used for a more bluesy sound, BB King has his special made without the F holes, but there essentially an ES, Lucille is probably the most famous guitar there ever was, so throw popular out the window. and an LP is just an LP everyone plays one of those.
