Epiphone Banjos

Guitar Help Needed! (Epiphone SG-310) (Tuning / string help please)?
Okay, so I just got my first guitar. Is My beautiful with all necessary accessories. I plugged the amp and learned Smoke On The Water (main riff only) in about 15 minutes. It seemed unbelievable, with the right amount of distortion. Then I decided it wold sound even better if it's tight, so I left the tuner came with and started trying. Then broke Electronics chain high and I have no idea how to fix it. It also sounds more like a banjo than a guitar ... : (. I guess I'm wondering if anyone have any suggestions for something to do with the strings, tuning, and tone. Hopefully one of my smart friends guitar can come tomorrow and help me. although I do not know if there is intelligent guitar as they say they are. Any help is greatly aprecciated.
The strings that come with a guitar are usually very low quality. I suggest replacing all of them. At some point you take your guitar to a music store and make an adjustment and the intonation on it. This will ensure that the soul is straight, the action is tight, and stays in tune all the way up the neck. These are things that should not be done by someone who knows what they are doing - because it is a bit of a newbie, I suggest taking a guitar tech, not one of his friends. Oh yeah, and be sure to ask them to check for burrs on the chair, too. Should not there be one, but it does not hurt to ask. This will cost a bit in general, but it's worth - to playing the guitar so it's fine-tuned sound better than one that is not, and will be better to play in general has. If that sounds like a banjo tuned too high or too low. Notes should be adequate thicker string EADGBE (What we call the bottom line, but in reality is closer to you) to the thinnest string (the top string, the string field is higher). You can change their tune, of course, but the best way to change your tune, for now, if you really want is to tone down a half step - D # G # C # F # A # D # (Or Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb, depending on what the tuner can tell). You need a chromatic tuner for this - the Korg CA-20 is about $ 20 and is one of the best tuners there. This adjustment is called half step down, and make your guitar sound a bit more - will also go out of tune a little easier. But I do not know I leave it the norm for now until I get the hang of what you're doing. You can always expirimentation. Just so you know, however, the downward adjustment is a great way to get a darker or more "heavy" sound of his guitar, even if only a half step down. When you're tuning, make sure you are using the tuner, for now. Over time you will learn how to tune by ear, but it is very common for beginners who do not have trained ears and set too high, breaking the chains. At some point you'll have more on learning the intricacies of what makes a guitar sound good, and I refer to the pickup height and pole piece height, including pickups and guitars and exchange cables, etc. For now expiriment with the difference in tone between the volume and tone all the way and how your guitar sounds when you scroll down a bit ... once you begin to notice small details like this that are on your way to find your own tone. O yes, and very high gain is really bad. Usually, you want to keep their profits below 50% - this way you can tell what notes you're playing, instead of a distorted mess Saul.
