Epiphone Ace Les Paul

Is there that much of the difference between the Epiphone and Gibson guitars?
Hello, I recently bought an Epiphone Les Paul Classic and I love him to death. Before that, only use a Fender Squier Beginner, compared with the Les Paul, it sounds kinda bad. Is there really that much of the difference between the Epiphone Gibson and Les Paul? Cause You might want to save for a Gibson, if its worth it. I am looking into purchasing the following ... Or one: Epiphone or Gibson SG, Epiphone Ace Frehley Les Paul Signature, Fender P Bass, or Fender Jazz Bass. As you can see on that list, I too am a bassist. Can anyone recommend what should I invest? Right now I have about $ 200 (and even savings) to get a guitar, bass and I get the correct so my money was not wasted. Thanks for your help
There is a difference in the way an Epiphone and a Gibson sound and play. There is also a difference in the finish and details. The question for me was, are the differences really worth the extra few thousand dollars from the Gibson would cost. I have several friends who own Gibson, which would completely agree with me on this, but I do not really matter what brand is in the head. I'm not interested in status symbols. I went with the Epiphone and was very happy with my choice. I've played a number of Gibson guitars, some are nice to play (and see), while some can be quite disappointing. I asked an expert luthier the same question you asked and it was his response: each guitar is different, play, feel out, to examine every aspect carefully. Do not go just for the brand name. Gibson Les Pauls, despite its light tone, are very heavy about his neck. The last guitar I bought was a Cort. Much better than an Epi, much cheaper than a Gibson.
